Open Question: Electronic music production question?

I LOVE Bassnectar, he's my inspiration. I want start creating electronic/dubstep, that will be greatly influenced by Bassnectar. I dont know where to start to create that sound though, Im thinking about buying an Akai MPD26 for the drum kicks, hi hats etc. And a Microkorg synthesizer for the synths and basslines. Is that all I need?

    Ohkay, i really LOVE this music, i love the dubsteps, and electronic music... i also like people like nickasaur, and lights. So yeah. I'd really like to start doing my own music like this. some Bands, are (i've seen them called trance bands?) are srillex and bassnectar. Alson blood on the dancefloor, i think does some of this.. And a band with screamo mixed in... Attila.

    Anyways, sorry.

    I'd realy like to start making this, and i'd like to know what equipment i need for it, i'm having a hard time finding good information on it. So a voice synthesizer? and i just bought a new computer, it's a toshiba with i think a 3 gb memory, so would you reccomend getting more memory? and the equipment i need? I would really appreciate it, and my b-day is coming up so it would be easier if i knew in advance and could ask for it. thanks!

  • Open Question: what is the name of the song by bassnectar?

    I went to the bassnectar show at the 1st bank center in colorado last night and it was amazing. does anyone know all the songs he played.. there is one i dont know that i cant get out of my head.. its the one where there are four notes played; a low one into a high one and then a middle one to that high one again.. these are played with synthesizers or something that sounds electronic with no bass in the background.. please help
